SME Business IT campaign wins at industry awards, Dec 8, 2009

A campaign delivered by Communications Management encouraging SMEs to grow their businesses through investment in their IT capability has won two industry awards.

The TakeITon campaign funded by East of England Development Agency was recognised for the quality of the strategic thinking and delivery as well as for the use of social and online marketing, scooping awards in the best public sector campaign and best website categories in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride awards.

TakeITon has helped hundreds of businesses find financial, strategic and practical support to help them survive and thrive in the face of the recession.

The integrated campaign has reached out to businesses through a rolling programme of awareness campaigning through the media, partnerships with business representative bodies such as the IOD, the Chambers of Commerce and Federation of Small Businesses and IT masterclasses delivering face to face strategic support and insight.

The most recent part of TakeITon has seen the creation of an online social network for SMEs to connect with each other and discuss IT issues with Business Link advisers as well as a dedicated IT tip of the day on twitter.

In addition to winning two silver CIPR awards, the TakeITon’s programme of practical workshops – Fight the Credit Crunch with IT – and the campaign photography were shortlisted as finalists in the best event and best use of photography categories.
