Communications Management has been re-appointed by Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) to deliver PR services from 1 November 2009 following a competitive three-way pitch.
MMU first enlisted Communications Management’s expertise four years ago when a research study found that the University’s reputation among business, employers and selected professions was low compared to its competitor universities in the region. This was hampering its ability to generate income from business and commercial partnerships, research and consultancy, and courses aimed at employers.
In order to increase demand for its services and enhance its reputation, MMU asked Communications Management to help position it as a leading source of expertise in key professional areas.
The MMU account team have secured over 340 pieces of in-depth media coverage in the major sector, professional and specialist media serving the University’s strongest subject groups – including art and design, business education, health and social care, law and science and engineering. They also researched and produced a leading edge report – ‘The Changing Professions in the North West of England’ – which addressed the needs of selected professions and how MMU is meeting these needs.
Communications Management will now deliver an integrated PR campaign for MMU including UK and international media relations, digital and social media activity, reputation analysis and UK political relations.
