Higher Education

There’s never been a more intensive period of change in UK higher education – greater emphasis on student choices, the opening up of competition from new providers, expansion of employer-facing opportunities (such as degree apprenticeships), pressure to prove teaching value and research impact and to influence public policy, expectations to be more supportive of schools, changing patterns of international recruitment, internationalisation, the need to be ‘anchor’ institutions for communities, and an evolution to become even more effective commercial operations.

Our team of HE consultants (mostly drawn from prior in-house HE roles and backgrounds) are working day to day with universities, specialist colleges, ‘alternative providers’, government agencies, mission groups, associations, pathway providers, and commercial partners to higher education to help them to succeed in this climate of change.

We provide analysis of reputation and positioning, strategic expertise, communications consultancy, consultations and public engagement campaigns, pr campaigns and retainer PR programmes, crisis communications advice, public affairs support and a range of other expertise to help the HE sector. We also operate an international network of pr agencies and have associate agencies in branding, design, advertising, telemarketing, digital and social media, and management consultancy.

Our client list includes

"We asked Communications Management to undertake a review of the structure of our marketing and communications operation and to carry our research into our reputation regionally and nationally. Their work has been strategically important in shaping a more effective and competitive marketing and communications structure and in helping us to address outdated perceptions of the University. Their team is highly knowledgeable and professional and I recommend them highly."
